About Us

A key focus of many placements is that of mentoring younger children. Programmes at local primary schools and libraries take the form of weekly homework help, or can be more focused on a specific subject area, such as Numeracy or Literacy, where Paulines can make a noticeable impact on children for whom English is a second language.

For those Paulines who have medical or more vocational careers in mind, placements also take place at care homes, youth clubs or in a variety of similar settings where Paulines can provide a genuine benefit to individuals in the community whilst also developing their own skills.

Paulines also stage events for the local community, such as drama productions for elderly residents, coordinate fund-raising through our charities committee and promote good practices through our environment committee.

Over 80% of Lower and Upper Eighth Paulines are involved in voluntary service and many use this experience as part of their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze or Gold awards.
