GCSE
Pupils are prepared for OCR's History B Modern World specification J417. The topic on ‘International Relations, 1919–1939’ is covered and students complete a depth study on ‘Germany, 1918–1945’, a source-based study on ‘Britain, 1890–1918’ and a controlled assessment on ‘Russia and the USSR, 1905–1941’.AS and A level
Pupils are prepared for the OCR specifications H106 (AS) and H506 (A2). There
have been regular changes at St Paul’s to the content studied for AS
and A2. Currently, all AS students study the
British course, ‘From Pitt to Peel’. In addition, they sit a document-based paper, the topic being determined by set from a choice of three: ‘The Origins and Course of the French
Revolution’, ‘The Origins of the American Civil War’, ‘Italian
Unification’. For A2, ‘The Challenge of German Nationalism, 1789–1919’ is studied along with a unit for coursework on ‘Gladstone and Disraeli, 1865–1886’. Further details can be obtained on the OCR web-site.After St Paul’s
