Getting to school
I enjoy going to school. — L8th former
Many of our pupils make their own way — perhaps being dropped off by a parent or travelling by bike, tube or bus. We also run some school buses.
You’ll need to arrive before 8.35am and be registered with your tutor by 8.40. It’s fine to wear casual dress for the journeys to school and home.
Cycling
You may cycle to school, locking your bikes in a parking bay. You’re not allowed to leave your bike at school overnight.
Parking
There are two car parks for parents wishing to drop pupils off at school. Car parking attendants will be on hand at all times if you have any queries. (You may not drive yourself to school in a car without permission obtained in advance from the Undermaster. There is no parking space available for pupils on the school site.)
Public transport and school buses
If you’re making your own way by public transport, the TfL site is the place to look for information. Student discount forms for travel on public transport can be picked up from school reception.
If you’re interested in using a school bus, this is what is available (the links are to Google Maps showing pick-up points):
All our buses get to school by 8.30am and leave at 4.25pm.
North London
Many of our pupils travel to school from North London. We offer these pupils a number of bus services, taking in four different routes:
- Route 1 (Henley’s Corner, Golders Green, Heath Drive/Frognal Lane, Finchley Road, Baker Street)
- Route 2 (Hendon Way, Swiss Cottage)
- Route 3 (Belsize Park, Regent’s Park)
- Route 4 (St John’s Wood)
Pick-up times range from 7.15 to 7.45am, depending on the route.
Surrey
There are two school Surrey buses: one covers the Esher area, the other is a more local route. Boys will be picked up from various points between 7.25 and 8.00am.
Email us for details of charges and to book your place, or phone 0208 746 5363.
You might also be interested in how to complete the last leg of your journey, from either Hammersmith or Barnes:
From Hammersmith
Hammersmith is currently served by the District, Piccadilly and Hammersmith and City tube lines. It is a 20 minute walk from the station to the school site. Many boys prefer to take the 419 bus from Hammersmith station, which drops you directly outside the school gate. There are other buses from Hammersmith (33, 72, 209, 285) which stop at the top of the school road.
From Barnes
Barnes Station is served by frequent trains from Clapham, Waterloo and Richmond. You can take the 33 or 72 bus from Barnes station to St Paul’s.
