Debating
A remarkable string of victories in national competitions over recent years has helped to make debating a highly popular activity at St Paul’s in which Paulines’ natural desire to question and argue can be a huge asset.
In 2011, for the second time in three years, St Paul’s won the International Mace. In 2010, we won both the Bristol University and the Manchester University Schools’ Debating competitions and our Junior A team won both the International Competition for Young Debaters, held at the Oxford Union, and the UCL Junior Schools’ Debating Competition.
Opportunities for new debaters and the more experienced are available each Tuesday lunchtime and everyone is encouraged to add points from the floor. Every autumn, debating by Clubs also takes place.
There is ample opportunity for everyone to share in the success and excitement of debating at St Paul’s.
