British Mathematical Olympiad, Round 2
Congratulations to James Aaronson (Year 13, Upper Eighth) and Sahl Khan (Year 12, Lower Eighth) who came 3rd and 4th equal, respectively, in Round 2 of the BMO. Both have been selected for the UK team competing in this year’s Romanian Master of Mathematics competition (29 February–4 March).
It is rare, indeed, for two pupils from the same school to be selected for the UK team of six. Both James and Sahl now have a good chance of representing the UK in this year’s International Mathematical Olympiad. James, who recently secured a place to read Mathematics at Trinity College, Cambridge, won a gold medal, as top UK competitor, in last year’s IMO.
