Preisträgerprogramm
Francis Thomas (Year 12, Lower Eighth) has won a prestigious German government scholarship to tour and study in Germany this summer.
Run by the-voyage, part of UK-German Connection (‘a bilateral government initiative dedicated to increasing contacts and understanding between young people in the UK and Germany’), this annual, fully funded scholarship programme takes just eight students from a field of hundreds:
The German Scholarships Programme (Preisträgerprogramm) is a fantastic opportunity for all UK citizens, aged 16+, in their penultimate school year (Year 12 in England and Wales, S5 in Scotland, Year 13 in Northern Ireland). The programme is run by the Pädagogischer Austauschdienst (PAD) and administered in the UK by UK-German Connection. It provides a unique opportunity for pupils to get first-hand experience of German life and culture and improve their German language skills at the same time.
This is the first time any pupil from St Paul’s has entered the competition.
