Spring Grove Music winners
A trio from St Paul’s won this year’s Spring Grove Music Festival Classical Section.

On Sunday, 21 March, the three played the finale of Shostakovich’s Piano Trio to win the coveted award. Dr Powell commented, the group ‘mesmerised us with Shostakovich of huge maturity and virtuosity’.
Unprecedentedly, three Pauline Chamber Music groups reached the finals of this prestigious and highly contested London competition.
The competition benefits the elderly under the auspices of homes within the Springdene Group. Many Springdene residents were present at the performance.
