High Master to stand down in 2011
From the Chairman of the Governors, Dr F C G Hohler :
After seven highly successful years as High Master of St Paul’s, Dr Martin Stephen announced today his decision to stand down in one year’s time, at the end of the next academic year.
Dr Stephen, in his own words, regards the time he has spent here at St Paul’s as the summit of his career. Not only do I share this view but I believe it is no coincidence that the school itself has attained its present position as the leading school in its sector under his remarkable leadership. All of us, Governors, staff, parents and pupils, owe Dr Stephen our profound gratitude for his distinguished achievements here at St Paul’s. He will go with all our very best wishes.
The Governors plan to have a suitable successor in place by the beginning of the new academic year, starting September 2011. This will ensure a seamless hand-over and continuity of leadership for the school, maintaining St Paul’s in the forefront of the independent school sector.
