‘Summit’: Company of The Year
Following on from their success at the national final in July, ‘Summit’ became the first British team to win the JA-YE Europe Company of the Year championship in over a decade.
Summit represented the United Kingdom at the Junior Achievement/Young Enterprise Europe Company of the Year Awards in Oslo, ‘a showcase of the best student companies of the year from across Europe’. Thirty-four companies competed, representing thirty-two nations and tens of thousands of companies. Over four days, contestants from as far afield as Israel, were ‘judged by a panel of business people on their annual reports, marketing, sales strategy, company presentation, product and/or service’.
Summit’s product, Click: The Perfume Pen, a dual-function pen and perfume dispenser, impressed the judges with its originality and marketability. The team’s outstanding four-minute presentation to an audience of over 600, together with their superb knowledge of business, won them the contest.
Credit goes to all 15 members of Summit, and in particular to the competition team (pictured above) of Preye Koroye-Crooks, Hugo Murphy, Sohrab Najile-Rahim, Aska Ross and Managing-Director Jai Kapoor. Jai has been invited to be a judge at the UK 2012 final.
