Football
19 football teams represent the school, from 1st XI to junior D team level. As a result, at least 250 boys have the chance to play for the school during the spring term.
Each team is organised and trained by a member of our teaching staff. We also employ outside coaches to run goalkeeper clinics.
Matches take place during the week, in games options, and on Saturdays. Each team has two lunchtime training sessions during the week. Before the spring term, there are 2–3 days of pre-season training for senior, U16 and U15 players.
Boys joining the school at 13 are encouraged to experience a sport they’ve not encountered before. U14 matches are therefore played in the second half of the spring term, though there are opportunities to practise soccer skills throughout the term.
The enthusiasm generated by pupils and staff means that we have been able to run a number of tours, in recent years travelling to South Africa, Spain and Portugal. We also run short, pre-season tours in the UK.
