Sailing
Sailing is an exhilarating sport and a great way to break out of London life.
The school keeps six RS Fevas at Queen Mary Sailing Club, top quality boats and good fun to sail regardless of ability. Boys from the Fifth form up are able to join the sailing games half and work towards their RYA Level 2 — which entitles them to hire boats from many beach and sailing clubs worldwide. Once they are proficient, we concentrate on perfecting their racing skills with friendly battles within our fleet and occasionally with other schools who use QMSC.
We are currently expanding the number of regattas we attend, concentrating on fleet racing events and have high hopes for our fledgling team.
For those of you who prefer big boats, there is an annual sailing holiday to France and the Channel Islands, living on board yachts. The purpose of the holiday is not to work towards qualifications but to have fun. However, the miles covered do count towards the RYA Cruising Scheme.
All in all, there is something for everyone!
