Art

At St Paul’s Juniors, pupils receive a full and effective aesthetic education through a wide range of practical working methods and media.

The programmes of study are designed to build confidence, foster teamwork, develop independent critical thinking and, crucially, an interest in the wider world.

In the Art Department, pupils are given creative tasks that stimulate their imagination and intellect, challenging them to explore new ideas whilst extending and developing their artistic skills to a high standard. Through the study of historical and contemporary events and art from around the world, pupils learn to appreciate how art shapes history, the modern world and our British culture.

Pupils have a positive and enjoyable experience in two well-equipped studios and are taught by speacialist art teachers. A variety of lunchtime clubs are on offer to allow pupils to explore their own creative interests and to receive on-on-one tutoring. Additional workshops and guest speakers are organised in-house and in conjunction with the Parents’ Art Association – further enriching the pupils’ artistic education.
