Maths Olympiad - Pauline Silver medal
1st May 2007
Dominic Yeo was the highest scoring of the six British team members who represented the UK in the Balkan Mathematical Olympiad, taking place in Rhodes from 26th April to 2nd May. Scoring valuable marks in each of the four questions tackled, he won a Silver medal for his performance, the rest of the team achieving four Bronze medals between them. This is a prestigious competition involving teams from Greece, Cyprus, Romania, Bulgaria and other countries in that region. The UK was invited to send a guest team to this competition (see here for further details)
Dominic, still in the Lower Eighth, has also been placed on the final squad of nine from which the UK team at the International Mathematical Olympiad in Hanoi, Vietnam, will be selected. This is the world championship of mathematics competitions.
