British Mathematical Olympiad
In the second round of the British Mathematical Olympiad, Sahl Khan (4H) came 12th in the country, scoring 29/40.
This is a quite astonishing result: the second round of the British Mathematical Olympiad is taken by the very best school mathematicians of all ages (up to 18). No other Year 9 pupil came anywhere near this, and no one can remember anything like this in recent years.
James Aaronson, who scored 18, was the best Year 10 pupil in the country. Many congratulations to James.
Both Sahl and James have been invited to the Training Camp at Trinity College, Cambridge, for aspiring International Olympiad participants. Only 20 students are invited and almost all of these will be in their last two years at school.
