Pauline is Country's Top Chemist

Sasha Kasas, in last year's Upper Eighth, has come top of all candidates in last summer's A-level Chemistry exam set by OCR. In recognition of his success the Royal Society of Chemistry has awarded him a special prize for his achievement and a cheque for £100. This award rounds off an excellent year for Sasha, in which he won gold in the first round of the 2008 Chemistry Olympiad, was selected for a special RSC training camp and, together with his classmate, Nilpesh Patel, was part of the team of four that represented the UK in the International Olympiad finals in Budapest in July.

Sasha now goes on to read Natural Sciences at Cambridge.
