Winter Walking
from the summit of Mardale Ill Bell
The Winter Walking trip has become an annual institution. Departing on the last day of term for the Lake District, it is an excellent chance to blow away the cobwebs of the long autumn term. We have been lucky with the weather every year and, in spite of forecasts for incessant rain we managed a day and half in the dry, climbing Blencathra on the Friday and High Street, Mardale Ill Bell and Harter Fell from Haweswater on the Saturday.
