St Paul’s School / The Arts

The Drama Centre, which opened in 2014, houses the state-of-the-art Samuel Pepys Theatre as well as a teaching wing overlooking the River Thames. Coupled with the Milton Studio, these theatres host upwards of a dozen productions each year, allowing boys to embrace a range of performance styles and the technical and design challenges therein. To support our varied output, we employ a full-time theatre technical manager and a theatre technician.

The possibilities for enthusiastic boys are vast: from in-house drama competitions and pupil directed plays, via experimental studio pieces, to large-scale musicals and plays from the classical repertoire. Furthermore, there are regular opportunities for senior boys to perform at both the Lyric Theatre in Hammersmith and the Edinburgh Fringe.

We also host a number of touring theatre companies throughout the year who both perform and run workshops for pupils, as well as welcoming leading speakers from the theatrical industry.
