Football Report – 24 January

The results from Saturday are below. It was fantastic to finally be able to host one of our partner schools, Fulham Boys School for some competitive matches – the 3rd XI were unlucky to lose 3-2 to a late goal against the FBS 1st XI while the U16As, still depleted by injuries, lost a crazy game 4-3. After conceding a last-minute equaliser, the U15As will have learned some hard lessons.

In the afternoon, the 1st and 2nd XIs hosted RGS Guildford in the London Cup, both sides winning 2-0. The 1st XI played against an extremely defensive low block for the first time this season which was challenging to break down. Patience and higher pressing in the second half prevailed as Powell and Shevchuk pounced on RGS mistakes to break the deadlock. This week, Danny Shai (Man of the Match) was excellent, running tirelessly and protecting the ball up front.
