In 1st VI Golf news, the first round of the Swift Foursomes was played in very tricky conditions against St Columba’s College at The Royal Mid Surrey Golf Club.
1st pair, Lorenzo Massi and Krish Patel, struck the first ball of the day, coinciding with the first raindrop falling.
It did, however, not stop raining for the next four hours, meaning that just gripping the club was proving to be a challenge for most players. It appeared however, that 2nd pair Veer Singh and Shiv Ahluwalia were playing a different course as they beat their opposing pair 9&8, finishing 1 under par for the holes that they played.
Lorenzo and Krish narrowly lost on the 17th (2&1), and Elwen Cameron and Finn Carter led for the front 9, but unfortunately lost momentum and lost 4&3.
The team look forward to hosting Haberdashers’ Elstree in the next game in the Swift group.
