Congratulations to our pupils for outstanding results in the British Physics Olympiad and the Oxford University Computing Challenge.
British Physics Olympiad Senior
Our Lower Eighth physicists have achieved a record set of results in the British Physics Olympiad Senior Challenge, with 3 Bronze, 28 Silver and 36 gold awards. Over 5,000 students competed nationwide; 5% of all gold awards went to St Paul’s boys.
Oxford University Computing Challenge
The Oxford University Computing Challenge is an invitation event that aims to encourage students who have achieved a top 10% score in the UK Bebras Challenge to develop their skills further and produce programmed solutions to computational thinking problems.
After qualifying in the UK Bebras Challenge, Fifth Form pupils Victor Liu, Archie Macrae and Haolin Zhao participated in the Oxford University Computing Challenge. We are pleased to report that Archie came in seventh place, Victor in second place and Haolin won with a remarkable 75 out of a maximum of 78 marks. A remarkable result. Well done to all three.
