BalloonSat

This year’s Asgard BalloonSat Fifth Form team of Victor Liu, James Platt, Rayn Lakha, Muhammad Hasan and Rex Weber-Brown, overcame great odds to deliver a successful mission.

The Fifth Form team had an impossible task to make their prototype flight ready in the three weeks after lockdown with only limited access to the workshop. The project was rescued by Victor and James who came in to school for the first week of the Easter remedy to build, program and test the flight hardware.

This year’s trip was entirely virtual with all teams participating remotely. The St Paul’s team did a fantastic job of presenting their work at the conference and were rewarded with the recovery of their experimental data with the balloon. Initial analysis is promising and they will now produce a scientific poster for publication by the Planetarium.
