Chess Club
The Chess Club has a long and glorious history, having been graced by the talents of several players who went on to become Grandmasters and bestride the world of chess
The Chess Club has a long and glorious history, having been graced by the talents of several players who went on to become Grandmasters and bestride the world of chess including Jon Speelman, Julian Hodgson, William Watson and Dharshan Kumaran.
Whether you enjoy a relaxing game of chess at lunch or competitive matches against other schools, Chess Club has something for everyone. We run daily, with coaching sessions from Grandmaster John Emms taking place on Thursdays.
This year we will be organising several internal tournaments as well as matches against other schools such as arch rivals Westminster! Those interested in being on the chess team should attend Chess Club.
