Space Society

The Space Society gathers weekly to support students involved in building space projects and to explore new space technologies.

This popular society has grown out of student participation in the European CanSat Competition.

St Paul’s teams have won twice, with a 3rd place and other awards, this year winning “Best Professional Competency” in the UK competition. During the first such event we made a close connection with the Belgian team, since then we have taken teams to Brussels to launch experiments to the edge of space with the Asgard Balloons program. We now also run our own research BalloonSat program called Ascension.

Student interest in space engineering has continued to grow and now SPS Space also supports students involved in the UK Space Design CompetitionZero Robotics, and their own personal projects. In the far future dreams of a St Paul’s space station beckon. The sky is not the limit!
