British Biology Olympiad

Earlier this term, Eighth Form pupils participated in the British Biology Olympiad, one of three annual competitions for over 60,000 students, designed to test their practical and theoretical biology skills.

The SPS participants were awarded 48 medals, with 86% of Pauline participants earning a medal; 44% of these were gold. All those who received a gold medal — placing them in the top five percent of the 18,500 students from over 1,050 schools worldwide — have been invited to participate in the next round of the selection process to represent the UK team in the International Biology Olympiad.
