Following the BMO round 2, three Paulines have been selected for the distinguished UKMT Easter Training Camp, held at Trinity College, Cambridge.
Adavya Goyal (Fifth Form), Neil Prabhu and Haolin Zhao (both Lower Eighth) are among a group of approximately 20 mathematicians from across the country who will receive intensive training in the form of lectures and seminars before undergoing a selection test to pick a team of six for the International Mathematical Olympiad. Three Paulines also achieved Distinctions in the second round of the BMO: There were also Distinctions for Jash Jhaveri (Upper Eighth), Anango Prabhat (Fifth Form) and Michael Sidorenko (Fourth Form).
This year, the IMO is to be held in Chiba, Japan at the beginning of July. St Paul’s has an excellent record of achievement in the IMO but, to our knowledge, this is the first time that three pupils have qualified for the training camp at the same time. Well done to all three pupils on this outstanding achievement and to Dr Zhivko Stoyanov for the countless hours he has put into helping them prepare.
