St Paul’s School achieved another excellent set of results in round 2 of the British Mathematical Olympiad, with a record five pupils achieving distinctions in this notoriously challenging competition. The top performer was Sixth Form pupil Haolin Zhao who scored 21/40, placing him equal 15th in the country. This earned him an invitation to a training camp for the International Mathematical Olympiad over the Easter Remedy.
Hot on his heels was his contemporary Neil Prabhu, who scored 20/40 (24th in the country) and Cambridge-bound Johnny Cubbon (Upper Eighth), who achieved a mark of 19/40. Congratulations to all of those who took part, and huge thanks to all the teachers who have helped them prepare, particularly Dr Stoyanov, who has put in countless hours during term time and over the holidays to help nurture these prodigious mathematicians.
