On 10 and 11 November, 337 students (over a third of SPS) sat the Senior Mathematics Challenge, a 90-minute problem-solving test run by the UKMT.
Students achieved 150 gold certificates, 143 silver certificates, and 40 bronze certificates, with 32 students qualifying for the first round of the British Mathematics Olympiad (a gruelling three-and-a-half-hour competition) on 2 December. An unprecedented nine students achieved full marks. In the Eighth Form: James Roberts, Soufiane Noubir, Erick Jian, Ali Imam-Sadeque, Johnny Cubbon, Rick Chen, Kangzi Chan and Wentao Huang, and the Sixth Form, Haolin Zhao.
