We are excited to announce that our third Club MasterChef is back this term – bigger and better than before!
This term, the event will be split into two school rounds, with finalists invited to participate in a live finale hosted by SPGS.
Round one launches on Friday and will run for a week, with the deadline for submissions being Friday, 21 January. The best chefs from each club will then be invited to participate in round two, which will run in early February and include a live taste test from our judges – details about this round will follow in due course. After the February remedy, finalists will be invited to participate in a live finale.
Details for round one are included below, and we look forward to many wonderful submissions from current Paulines! Pupils will be sent the link to upload their round one submission from their Club Presidents and are reminded to not undertake any cooking at home without the express permission and supervision of their parents/ guardians.
Round one Club MasterChef
Brief:
As we celebrate Veganuary, your task is to make a delicious vegan savoury or sweet dish from scratch.
Rules:
- You must take a picture of all ingredients.
- You must document your cooking of the dish in a video/photo montage, showing evidence that you have made the dish yourself (i.e. the photos/video should demonstrate various steps of the culinary process and not just the final product).
- You must write a description of your dish using sophisticated culinary terminology (think ‘haricot beans in a tomato jus on a bed of pain grillé’ rather than ‘beans on toast’!).
Deadline:
The deadline for submissions is Friday 21 January
Points will be awarded for:
-
- Complexity of dish
- Presentation of dish
- How well the dish meets the brief
N.B. Please be careful whilst cooking and do not attempt this task without the explicit permission of your parent/ guardian at home.
