Work in collaboration with St Paul’s Girls’ School (SPGS) has continued this term.
Very pleasingly, this has included a programme of joint electives for the Year 12 pupils. Pupils from both schools can choose to attend courses at either school on a wide range of topics including American New Wave Cinema, An introduction to International relations, and Cryptic Crosswords among others. One of the aims of the collaboration is making interactions between the pupils of the two schools the norm rather than the exception and having pupils interact in the classroom is a step towards this.
In addition to these joint electives, there has been joint pupil leadership training. The Consent and Respect group (SPGS) and Values Committee (SPS) have also been meeting regularly, and are currently presenting in PSHE sessions to St Paul’s Juniors pupils.
Alongside these activities, there has been a series of Co-curricular events bringing the pupils together, including the Joint Concert, Humanities Conference, Translation Masterclass, Hackathon, Maths Battle, Sixth Form (year 11) Quiz and Kiss me, Kate musical among others. There are more events in planning for the next two terms including film nights, joint careers events and a joint Webinar.
