It was a frustrating Saturday as the block fixture against Whitgift School was cancelled due to rain. The 1st XI did make it as far as the Whitgift Pavilion to see the likes of JJ Roy and Dom Sibley on the honours boards, only to have to turn around and head back to Barnes. Earlier in the week, however, the senior teams had success against Tiffin School.
The 1st XI won by 49 runs with captain K. Patel scoring his third half century of the season, backed up by some solid performances with the bat from R. Walter and D. Pandey.
R. Rajkumar was again the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3-16.
The 2nd XI won by 42 runs with S. Monro-Davies making 53 and C. Kenny taking 4-19.
The 3rd XI won by 8 wickets with L. Magalhaes scoring 27 not out, and M. Collins and B. Grimstone both taking 3 wickets each.
Meanwhile, the U14A and U15A are both through to the second round in their respective County Cup competitions after the opposition sides conceded. We are looking forward to a tough block fixture against Merchant Taylors’ School next week.
