SPS V Hampton, Saturday 8 June
It was another tricky week for the cricket club with a challenging block fixture against Hampton School. The three senior sides, heavily depleted with several opting out due to revision and injuries to key players, all lost.
In the 1st XI, U15 Rohan de Silva impressed taking 4-25 off 10 overs. In the 2nd XI, T. Ritchie, A. Chaudhary, D. Patel and S. Gani all bowled well, and the team narrowly lost by only 13 runs.
The U15As also lost, but played to an excellent standard against a strong opposition with T. Raaj impressing with another half century. The U15Bs lost with T. Bonomini (55), A. Martins (33) and B. Russel-Fraser (33-23) all putting in good performances. Meanwhile the U15Cs won with J. Hope (3-22), N. Younis (3-21) and N. Grossman (54*) impressing.
At U14 level, the As lost a hard fought match, with the Bs winning a tight game and the Cs losing an ever tighter match. N. Bansal (3-28), I Baijal (3-38) and J. Burch (44) had decent performances for the As, while the star of the Bs was match winning captain M. Warrack who scored 58 runs. This week the block fixture is against RGS Guildford on Saturday, with mid-week fixtures against Fulham Boys’ School and Epsom in the U14 cup.
