A report by Ms Turner
At the weekend, 129 Fifth Formers set off on the qualifying expedition for their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award.
They displayed great humour and embodied the school’s character trait of resilience extremely well. Despite dealing with the wind when putting up tents, trekking up the South Downs, suffering from hay fever and having to sleep under canvas, all passed their expedition section!
Many groups were singled out for particular praise from their instructors and I am hopeful that many are inspired to spend more time in nature in the future.
