Engineering Awards for Motorsports Team

At the end of the motorsports season, we’re delighted to be able to celebrate a selection of awards for our junior and senior teams.

Team Firefly (senior school) competed in the International Final at Goodwood last weekend. As well as racing on track, the pupils also competed for the IET Engineering award.

After the FF02 telemetry team explained to the judge the complexities in the car and how the trailer (which the current Sixth Form wired up to have power) enabled live telemetry to be gathered while it raced around the track, Team Firefly was awarded the International IET Engineering Award for the 2022 season. For those who follow Formula 1, this is the equivalent of the constructor’s championship. We are incredibly proud of our 2022 team, as this prize really was a team effort.

Similarly, a large group of pupils from St Paul’s Juniors took part in the ‘F1 in Schools’ regional event last season, in which they won a selection of awards.
