We are delighted that St Paul’s School has been awarded “Best for Entrepreneurship and Innovation” in The Week Independent Schools Guide Autumn/Winter 2025.
The publication reads:
“Start It is an enterprise pathway that spans primary school to Year 13 across the 10 schools of the West London Partnership, which was founded by St Paul’s. Through workshops, games and structured courses, pupils are encouraged to develop an entrepreneurial mindset, backed by alumni, parents and business partners who provide mentoring. Success is evident with pupil start‑up, Canopy, a 3D‑printed, self‑watering plant‑pot venture, recently winning Best Overall Company at the Young Enterprise London Finals. For leavers, the new Ester Incubator offers up to £10,000 per founder plus legal and financial support. Thirteen alumni businesses, from healthcare data platforms to organic ginger beer, are progressing to further funding rounds.”
Head of Entrepreneurship, Mr Nick Troen, said “St Paul’s has been leading the way academically for over 500 years, and the Start It programme continues this pioneering tradition by delivering the highest quality of entrepreneurship and innovation education to both St Paul’s and partnership school students alike. Increasingly, individuals and start-ups, not corporates, will solve the challenges of the twenty-first century and students partaking in Start It will be at the very forefront of this movement. It is a great testament to the programme – and the hundreds of young entrepreneurs who have engaged with it – to be recognised by The Week’s award for Best Entrepreneurship and Innovation.”
