An Upper Eighth team of eight students competed in the UK national finals of the European Youth Parliament competition over the summer.
The team – Lucas Cadman, Paul Emmett, Felix O’Brien, Corry Traynor, Noah Leach, Victor Mikheev, Caspar Robertson and Freddie Dehmel – spent four days at Liverpool University debating a wide range of issues, including cybersecurity, gender equality, access to education, AI, natural disasters and Brexit, with pupils from schools throughout the UK.
The results of the competition have not yet been announced, but the winning team will go ahead to represent the UK at an international youth parliament next year.
