The Parsons lectures are held each year in memory of Harry Parsons OP and are dedicated to raising awareness of well-being. This year the lectures will be delivered by Jonny Benjamin MBE. Jonny is an award-winning mental health campaigner, film producer, public speaker and writer. At the age of 20 he was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder, a combination of schizophrenia and bipolar, and later began making films on YouTube about the condition that have since been watched by hundreds of thousands of people. He is perhaps best known for his Channel 4 documentary and book The Stranger on the Bridge. Jonny will be joined by Neil Laybourn, the ‘stranger on the bridge’ who intervened when he was sitting on Waterloo Bridge contemplating his own life just over ten years ago. In the years since, Jonny and Neil have worked together to raise awareness of mental health issues and in the Queen’s 2017 New Year Honours List, Jonny was awarded an MBE for his services to mental health and suicide prevention.
This event will be recorded to give parents the opportunity to hear the talk.

No booking required.
