Topical Tuesdays – Taking Stock of Climate Policy

22 APRIL 2021

The Topical Tuesday series sees guest speakers from the St Paul’s Community share their take on the current environment.  In line with St Paul’s School EcoWeek – this environmentally focused Topical Tuesday will be brought to the St Paul’s Community on a Thursday – Earth Day.

Jeff Fiedler OP, 1982-86 has worked for 30 years on US and international climate policy. His talk will offer reasons for optimism as the deployment of climate solutions accelerates, and also some sobering observations about the daunting technical, policy and political hurdles that remain.

Jeff Fiedler attended St Paul’s School from 1982 to 1986. Jeff attended university and graduate school in the US, and after graduating moved to Washington DC to work for the US Environmental Protection Agency on climate change policy.

Jeff Fiedler has 30 years’ experience in US and international climate policy, working for a range of non-profit advocacy organizations including 7 years at The Nature Conservancy serving as the Climate Policy Director. He has consulted for clients in the private sector, government, and non-governmental organizations. Recent experience includes advocacy on the Paris Agreement reporting rules and supporting US states developing their climate policies.

In January 2021 Jeff Fiedler was elected to the Board of County Commissioners in Lake County, Colorado.
