In recent weeks, members of SPS’s Values Committee and Feminism Society, alongside SPGS’s Consent and Respect Committee, engaged with SPJ’s Lower Third T&P classes. The interaction aimed to delve into topics like feminism and stereotypes. A panel of two SPS and two SPGS Eighth Formers answered questions about what feminism means to them, how they feel it can positively shape the relationship between the three schools, and how they feel we can overcome negative stereotypes. Then each of the older pupils joined a small group of the younger pupils to discuss their ideas and help them think about how they can be good hosts and visitors when interacting with pupils from SPGS.
Feedback from the Lower Third has been very positive:
- “It was interesting to think about how we can challenge stereotyping.”
- “It was good to hear different views and experiences.”
- “I was surprised to hear about negative experiences some people have had, and it was good to be able to think about how to change this.”
