Huge congratulations to Freddie (Lower Eighth) on winning the National Under-25 Fives Singles tournament over the weekend at St Paul’s.
He demonstrated impressive accuracy, fitness, and mature match play, defeating the Cambridge University top seed 15-4, 15-4 in the final—becoming the first player to win the U25 title while still in school.
Freddie also reached the doubles final, but two long games in the quarter-final and semi-final, each lasting around two hours, left him and his partner (an ex-Winchester College player) without enough energy for the final. Only eight more years to claim the doubles title, Freddie!
