A team of Lower Eighth pupils (Jamie Young, Duncan Wong, Tony Liu and Victor Bault-Sprecher) participated in the IEA Budget Challenge.
They analysed the complex situation of the UK economy and the challenges the government faces. In addition, they proposed a combination of fiscal and supply side policy that is not only able to tackle the problem in the long run but also prudent and sustainable in the short term.
Their 5000-word proposal was outstanding both in terms of accuracy of the analysis and clarity of the presentation. As a result, they were selected as one of the top 10 teams nationally to attend the National Finals which will take place after half term.
