Fifth-formers William Isotta and Seb Erskine have taken first and second place respectively on the speaker board at the International Competition for Young Debaters.
Held in Oxford on 30 April, 72 teams from several countries made it through their regional round to take part in finals day. William and Seb put in the most consistently strong performance through four rounds of debating on the day to finish first and second on the speaker tab, going through to the semi-final and then the grand final, where they were beaten by a team from Dulwich College.
St Paul’s B-team, Adam Thompson and Ilyas Mardin, also performed creditably, finishing in 21st place.
