Italian trip with SPGS to the Italian Cultural Institute

On Wednesday 24 January, eight Lower and Upper Eighth Italianists joined a group of girls from St Paul’s Girls’ School for a lecture on three contemporary Italian novels, given by the former manager of the Italian Bookshop in London.

The novels all dealt with topics on the A Level syllabus such as immigration and Italian Fascism, and the pupils were given an introduction to the titles and encouraged to think about reading more widely in Italian. They will also receive a complimentary library card, allowing them to access the extensive collection of books available at the Italian Cultural Institute. Many thanks to the Italian department at SPGS for organising this unique experience, and we hope to be able to run more similar events in the future.
