Joint ACS Trip to the Black Cultural Archives in Brixton

Last Tuesday, 28 February, the African and Caribbean Societies of St Paul’s and St Paul’s Girls’ schools met for a trip to the Black Cultural Archives in Brixton.

Once there, they engaged in a workshop on Black British Feminism. They heard about the history of the different feminist movements within Black communities in Britain and used the material from the archives to unpack and learn more about what these movements were trying to rally against. This included a board game, recorded interviews, newspaper and magazine cuttings, and more.
