Joint Strings Day with St Paul’s Girls’ School

The Joint Strings Day with St Paul’s Girls’ School on Sunday 12 June was a great success.

Over 45 participants from both schools assembled in the Wathen Hall to rehearse Shostakovich’s Chamber Symphony, an arrangement for string orchestra of his String Quartet No 8. This extraordinary autobiographical work is a great challenge to play but all managed brilliantly to give a very moving performance of the piece at the end of the afternoon; well done to everyone who played.
