On Thursday 13 October, the Joint Symposium 2022 was held at St Paul’s Girls’ School.
After a welcome reception, the evening saw the Upper Eighth pupils who had won our Internal Symposium competition last month present their talks to an audience. Pupils from St Paul’s Girls’ School who had won their equivalent competition also gave their own presentations of the work they had produced. This joint event provided a celebration of scholarship and a chance for pupils from both schools to listen to and appreciate one another’s work.
The St Paul’s School talks delivered were:
‘Can AI techniques improve the diagnosis of Lymphoma?’ – by Charles Calzia
‘Learn as You Go: The Significance of Wei Qi for the Success of Nations’ – by Alexander Gong
‘Will Humanity Ever Produce a Truly Intelligent Machine?’ – by Rahul Marchand
‘Playing God: The Ethics of Choosing’ – by Oliver Milroy-Goulding
