Launch of the new Performance and Health Centre

On Friday 12 May, we were delighted to invite School Governor, Lord Vaizey of Didcot, to open the new Performance and Health Centre.

This state-of-the-art space is open to pupils and staff, and will support them in living a healthy lifestyle and developing along their own sporting journey, with everyone’s personal long term athletic development in mind.

The facility has been designed to benefit those within our pupil and staff body who wish to use it – whether the aim is to become a little fitter, recover from injury or progress along a high-performance sporting pathway.

The new performance and health centre is split into two levels that integrate seamlessly together. The lower level is designed for performance training and consists of weightlifting platforms, multipurpose squat racks, plate-loaded strength machines, a functional movement rig, free weights area and a large turfed square for integrated speed and power training. The upper level is catered to health and fitness, and consists of concept rowing, skiing and cycling ergs, spirit treadmills and ellipticals, virtually connected wattbikes, conditioning equipment specific to injury, a rehabilitation section with physiotherapy office, machine weights and large preparation/recovery areas.
