We are delighted to share the calendar for next week’s LGBT+ History Week with you below. The High Master will also be delivering a live assembly on Monday morning. A recording of the assembly will be shared with pupils.
We would like to draw your attention to our keynote speaker, the Reverend Richard Coles, who will be appearing via Zoom on Monday evening. As the only Church of England priest to have had a number one hit single and been a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing, it’s fair to say Richard Coles’ life has been full of variety. Shooting to prominence in the 1980s as the instrumentalist of the Communards, Richard turned his back on pop and was ordained in 2005. Now a passionate voice for inclusion and diversity, he has become one of the nation’s most popular broadcasters and writers. Richard will speak on his own experience as a gay man in the public eye and of his campaigning work for equality; after the talk, there will be a Q and A session in which Richard will happily take audience questions.
