Lord Burghley Athletics Trophy Competition 2022

St Paul’s Athletics Club came 3rd  overall in the prestigious ‘Lord Burghley Athletics Trophy’ on Saturday, with the Seniors finishing in 3rd place, Intermediates 3rd and the Juniors 5th, within their age groups.

It was a superb team effort all round, especially considering that we were without all but three of the Sixth Form and Upper Eighth athletes due to public examinations. Special mention must go to Jaydon Ekpo for a brilliant run in the Inter A String 200m, coming home in 1st place in a time of 23.35s. This is quite an achievement considering Jaydon was running against athletes a year older than him! Congratulations also go to Tom Street for an outstanding run in the Senior 400m, in which he finished in 2nd place in a superb time of 50.92s.
