Lunchtime Concert for FiSH

On Friday 4 December, the Alfille-Cook quartet (Joseph Alfille-Cook, Gareth Smith, Jason Kim, and Dr Evans on viola) made the trip to Barnes village to perform for a FiSH lunchtime concert in the Barnes Green Centre.

FiSH Neighbourhood Care provides voluntary help for the residents of Barnes, Mortlake and East Sheen with the aim of combating loneliness. It was most enjoyable to perform a Mozart quartet and Schubert’s wonderful ‘Quartettsatz’ for the enthusiastic audience, and we finished off with a seasonal arrangement of ‘God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen’.

After the performance we were treated to delicious soup and it was fascinating to chat with members of the audience. It was delightful to be able to provide music for such an appreciative audience and for such a good cause in the local community.
