On Tuesday evening, a Medical Networking Event was run for St Paul’s, St Paul’s Girls’ School and partnership school pupils.
The panel of medical students, alumni of West London Partnership schools, shared their experiences and gave advice to those in attendance (Sixth Form and Lower Eighth pupils).
The panel was composed of:
- Maya Banerjee (formerly SPGS) – 5th Year student at UCL
- Sophie Benson (formerly Christ’s School) – 1st year student at Nottingham
- Ariff Castronovo (formerly SPS) – 4th Year student at Oxford
- Charlotte Comon (formerly SPGS) – 3rd Year student at UCL
- David Kerella (formerly Christ’s School) – 1st year student at Imperial
- Sahil Misri (formerly SPS) – 4th year student at Imperial
- Shanthavi Wijayakumar (formerly SPGS) – 3rd year student at King’s
The event began with a panel discussion in a Question Time-style set up, chaired by Dr Langley. The students shared their experiences of medical school, aspects they enjoyed and aspects that have surprised them; their reasons for pursuing a career in medicine; and their advice to those applying for medical school.
Afterwards, the pupils and medical students enjoyed a networking session in which they could interact and ask questions on a 1:1 basis.
